PROFESSIONAL MURDER MUSIC Rejoined By Guitarist BRIAN HARRAH

October 27, 2008

After the release of "De Profundis" in 2005, Los Angeles-based industrial band PROFESSIONAL MURDER MUSIC (best known for the song "Slow", its standout contribution to the soundtrack of the 1999 Arnold Schwarzenegger film "End Of Days") began writing material for its next album. This would eventually lead to an entirely new vision of the band and its sound. While the band retains its signature layered sound and delivers it with an abundance of attitude, it bears little resemblance to what one would expect. Singer Roman Marisak has transformed his vocal style from an angst-driven distorted growl to a more expressive and melodic technique. The addition of former MICHALE GRAVES guitarist Tom Hatziemanouel has also had a significant influence in developing the band's new direction (Tom joined the band in 2003 after the departure of original guitarist Brian Harrah and has co-written many of the new songs with Marisak).

As a result of the evolved sound of the new material, the band made the decision to augment its lineup with an auxiliary player for live performances in order to more faithfully represent the new songs. That decision has led to the permanent addition of a new fifth band member who will be a familiar face to many: none other than former PMM guitarist Brian Harrah. Brian has been "secretly" working with the band in the studio throughout the past year.

Commented Tom: "When we realized that we were going to need another player live, it made sense to call Brian in. Once Brian got involved, the idea instantly changed from getting a 'live' guy to having a fifth band member. Brian has become a very important part of this band — again."

Added Brian: "Let's just say that things seem to always come full circle with non-stop surprises the whole way. Around the end of 2007 I received a call from Roman. He was working on new PMM and wanted an outside opinion due to being stuck on where to go with one of the new songs. We've always maintained a friendship since I left so I was totally up for helping out and hearing the new material. Needless to say after he played me one of the new tracks I was absolutely shocked. This was what I had always knew the band could be. They had accomplished moving up to the next level as writers and musicians. The songs bled emotions and the vocals were haunting and unforgettable. In some ways it was the 'heaviest' PMM I had ever heard. The band shortly thereafter contacted me in regards to helping them as a 'live' player and that quickly turned into being full-time once again. I can say without a shadow of doubt that the fans and people in general are definitely in for a shock and an amazing experience with the new material. We can't wait to get it out! This is definitely a rebirth!"

PROFESSIONAL MURDER MUSIC's current lineup:

Roman Marisak - Vocals, Guitar
Jeff Schartoff - Bass
Tom Hatziemanouel - Guitar
Brian Harrah - Guitar
Chris Olivas - Drums

In the coming months, the band plans to release a series of videos and "teasers", leading up to the announcement and release of band's new album. The first such "teaser" can be viewed below.
